Display Problems

#1wdcahnPosted 3/25/2010 12:47:20 PM

I have two problems getting this game to display correctly. First, when I start the game it defaults to windowed mode; I would much rather have it default to full screen mode. This is not that big a deal since I can change it, but still annoying. A bigger problem is that I can't seem to get the movies to fill up my screen, they are letterboxed on all four sides. My screen has a 16x9 aspect ratio and a max resolution of 1366x768. I am using an NVIDIA Geforce GT230M.Below is my swkotor2.ini file. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks:

The game does not support wide screen resolutions, hence the all-around letterboxing. As for the windowed problem, if you just hit ALT+ENTER when the game launches in windowed mode, it should make go full screen and never happen again.

Also should have mentioned, the movies themselves are fixed at 640X480 resolution, which probably has something to do with the letterboxing issue. However, there is a high res movie patch available for download that might help a bit:

I do not think that I explained the problem correctly. I know that the movies will always have leterboxing on all sides, but they still do not fill up as much space as they should. I did install the high-res movie pack but it will not help since the patch requires a monitor with a resolution of 1600x1200 or greater. Is their a way to upscale the movies to 1024x768? Thanks.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean. The HQ movies are already higher than 1024X768 res, they actually get scaled down to fit that res when played (under normal circumstances).

As I said before, I don't think I am doing a very good job describing my problem. I have installed the high-res patch, but the picture that I am seeing still takes up a vey small portion of the screen, even taking the forced pillarboxing into account. Also, some of the movies, such as the trailer and KhoMov01,are 4x3. These should extend to the top and bottom of the screen but they do not.

Regarding my other issue, Itried pressing alt+enter when the game first starts up but it did nothing. BTW, it's a bit off topic, but I am having several of the usual complaints regarding the 'Scion's Arrival Fix' mod. Does anyone have a fix for the fix? Thanks.

Right click the games shortcut, under properties you can often force them to start in fullscreen regardless of the .ini
