Because there's a huge menu right on top of the screen. It seriously gives the illusion of a cramped space, even when you're in the wide open world. Even after downloading 20 GB of HD textures, the game looks like a tiny viewport.
My modded WoW UI looks much better than the default because I moved the mini map and target frames to the bottom of the screen. I wish I can do that with this game.

What kind of monitor and resolution are you playing on? Mine looks great. --- --- Unless otherwise stated, the above message is purely opinion. Arguing about it is pointless.

sooo pretty much your saying that your resolution is lower than 1280x1024? because with it at that i would say the UI outside of a menu screen takes up about 15% of the total screen

My only gripe with the default UI is that the party icons down the left side of the screen are way too big. If they were half the size they are now, that would be perfect. Otherwise the vanilla UI is fine for me. --- Morrigan disapproves ( - 5 )

Um...how about that Mass Effect is 1/3 the length of DA? And how about the fact that DA was 5 years in development?

I always forget that menu is there. I wish I could have more action bars like in WoW though. --- Core firstname.lastname@example.orgGHz | 6GB OCZ DDR3 1600 | 512MB 8800GT | 500W Ultra X Connect | NZXT Rogue | 400GB WD HDD | Windows 7

dude you need to upgrade from that 16" CRT monitor. Get something bigger and nicer with a thinner frame on the outside of the screen.
I'm playing on 1900x1200 with HDtextures. If I can just remove the top menu bar (since I rarely click them out of battle), and make the party frames smaller it would make a big difference. I would play the entire game without the interface if I didn't have so many abilities to keybind.

What does that have to do with the UI?
minianthunterPosted 12/1/2009 5:11:48 PM
with that resolution you are just nip picking, either that or you have magnifying glasses on your entire UI and not the rest of the game because even on a lower resolution they are no where close to over powering the rest of the screen let alone taking up the majority of it
