Hey guys so im going to be installing windows 7 OS in a few days due to my computer being completely ravaged by a virus :(. However i was thinking of going 64bit but have saw posts on the internet regarding Dragon age being incompatible with it, has anyone found this or know if they have realised a fix/work around?

Thank you :D

I dunno about anyone else, but I stuck the disc in, installed it, and then played it on Windows 7 64 bit. No problems whatsoever.

Which version are you running? (Home, Pro or Ultimate?)

Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) here and running the Steam version without problems.

Always been flawless for me (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit), until the 1.03 patch. But I don't think the problems that patch introduced are related to W7.

Why should it have any problem running on any Windows OS?
XP and up, everything should be fine. Of course you shouldn't try running it on a windows 98 machine :)

I have had great success with Win7 Ultimate 64. I've been able to play every game I've wanted from the last 20 years with one exception (Mechwarrior 4 Mechpacks) & that is due to the non-support of microsoft for that particular expansion.

DAO works great. Just don't do the 1.03 patch, which DAO Awakenings comes preloaded with. I have had issues with crashes with that patch (& it seems to be common based on forums here & on the DAO forums).

Anyway, I know I'm a cheating bastard!

I have win 7 profession x64. I've had about 4-5 CTDs during my Awakening playthrough; not a deal breaker, but annoying.

Some people have it much worse though. It seems to be random, whether you can play it or not ,but it probably depends on your vid card/CPU, etc.

I'm running Windows 7 64-Bit perfectly, I'm on patch 1.03 and haven't crashed once yet.
