"This game has known compatibility issues"

I got my comp about a year ago, installed this and played through the single player once. When I tried to get online to play, I found that I had my HUD, could see chat and the running toll of who was killing who, and my aiming reticle--everything else i.e. the actual map was just a gray screen. I could still hear sound and move and die....a lot, but I couldn't see where I was moving.

I decided to uninstall and reinstall. When I went to re-install, the little mini-menu that pops up when u put the cd in said "uninstall" where "install" was supposed to be--the computer thought the game was still installed. I selected the uninstall again, nothing happened...now whenever I put my cd in windows says "this game has known compatibility issues" I hit continue and the uninstall option is still there. The game does not appear in the installed programs section of the control panel, so I think it's just an issue w/ the game itself. When I select "play single player" on the mini menu--it closes the menu and it seems like it's loading the game, but nothing actually opens.

What Windows are you running?

I'd say hes either running Vista or Windows 7.
I run it fine on windows 7 with Direct X 10.

I can post my system specs if people want.

Sounds like something to do with the system registry.

This is an extremely common problem with Vista. You can't have your AA higher than 2x otherwise this will happen. If you have it at 2x or None, you'll be fine.
I will not change this sig until BF3 is released.
