Best controls/camera setup?

I'm having difficulty getting used to the controls and camera in this game. Is there any control setup that works well? It's difficult for me to move the character around when one button controls forward movement when I am used to the camera direction controlling the character direction. Thanks!

I prefer exploration view, where you can see far from above with camera focus on selected character.

Using above shoulder view will limit your view, thus you cannot take advantage of the upcoming enemy, which is visible in exploration mode.

I've been using exploration view recently and it seems the best. What about controls?

I always click the place where my character would go, so I leave the W S A D alone. Plus, I hit Pause a lot before casting or attacking enemies.

I just be grateful that this game allow pausing while controliing, managing inventory, and queuing up actions.

I like characer mode while walking around and strategy mode while in battle. I don't like exploration mode at all. Although, I have edit nwn2player.ini in the docs folder with this:

Camera_Lag_Min=0.000000
Camera_Lag_Max=0.000000
Camera_Lag_Default=0.000000
Camera_Lag_Current=0.000000

And turn camera follow off.

Does that edit allow the camera to be smooth?

What do you mean? It just forces the camera not to follow your character.

I've tried character mode while battling. It is interesting enough. Feels more realistic.
