AganarPosted 4/17/2009 4:41:21 PM | Am I just imagining it, or do the enemies on the final stage (penultimate stage if you've got the necessary battle masteries) get a higher chance to hit me whenever I use focus? At least three times now I've targeted an enemy, looked at the stats, and noticed "Huh, he's got a 50% chance to hit. Maybe I can get that down with Focus), only to reinspect after having cast focus and discovered the hitrate is now 80 or 100%. I then do a double-take, figure I must have been looking at my character's stats instead of the enemy's, and go back to playing.
Am I going insane or what? I do make the occasional mistake of getting whose stats belong to whom mixed up, but three times in one stage (thus far; I'm not done with it yet) seems excessive. --- "I'm from the Northeast. We used to be important." - Jon Stewart |
dogboyPosted 4/17/2009 5:36:26 PM | Did the enemy change weapons? --- GameFAQs isn't going to be merged in with GameSpot or any other site. We're not going to strip out the soul of the site. -CJayC, June 3rd |
Fourth_BonkuraPosted 4/18/2009 3:34:19 AM | Yeah, late game enemies will usually switch to a weaker (and more accurate) weapon if they have one when you use focus, Usually a status effect weapon. Unfortunately the penultimate level grunts all have this sort of weapon... --- Nooooo, I'm fish *cook myself* -Leo4999 |
red255Posted 4/18/2009 6:33:47 AM | yeah the Einst enemies introduced before the clones of the Alt carry several rounds of Totalersieg (stun shot)
Plants as I recall carry EN drain (Gewinnengeist)...no thats SP Absorb, and Alt clones carry armor breaker. so most Einst carry limited forms of status effect weapondry with ...odd names. and theres a blocking spells weapon Reizvolltare.
weapons don't do much damage though so you can tank it on a barrier no problem.
of course these weapons are +70, Vs +15 of the regular weapon (of the final boss) so your chance to be hit should scale up 55. of course it has limited ammo so you can normally just get them to fire off all its rounds and yeah.
Generally I'd drain his EN (thru pestering his barrier or Furied EN drains) and then he'll expend his ammo-ed weapons pretty fast after that if you have more attacks that round. On your high dodge units.
But yeah, get in a command aura and upgrade your mobility. --- Anybody saying this is anime of the year will immediately be shut down when FMA comes out. -cloudvstidus4life | Posted: 2/17/2009 |
sb6Posted 4/18/2009 6:35:19 PM | On the part about using EN drain to get rid of the barrier, I'm assuming you mean the final Einst boss. Don't bother, special weapons don't work on him. |
Aganar (Topic Creator) Posted 4/18/2009 6:53:16 PM | I imagine they would if you use Fury. But that seems like alot of furies for a guy that regenerates. --- "I'm from the Northeast. We used to be important." - Jon Stewart |
red255Posted 4/19/2009 5:58:42 AM | Should I have used the word Fury-ed instead of Furied? Guy regenerates about 120-150 EN each round as I recall, so you can strip off his barrier with 1 Furied EN drain instead of 4-5 Support attack shots. --- Anybody saying this is anime of the year will immediately be shut down when FMA comes out. -cloudvstidus4life | Posted: 2/17/2009 |
Fourth_BonkuraPosted 4/25/2009 6:04:21 AM | Just hit him with a Fury'd armour breaker and then used combo attacks. They bypass his barrier.
Should I have used the word Fury-ed instead of Furied?
Not a clue. :/ --- Nooooo, I'm fish *cook myself* -Leo4999 |
