Is there any drawbacks to buying a used copy of FFIII instead of new?

I know with many other games there are.

Eh? Drawbacks like what?
You'll still have the old owner's saves on there (though they could just start a new game and overwrite all slots with early-game data, or, if they're fancy, use an external tool to erase the data manually) but other than that I can't really think of any disadvantages.

I can only think of one:

When I first bought the game, I saw that there was a stack of FFIII games in the used section of Game Stop, but I didn't know why until I got to the Earth Crystal on my new game: It froze each and every time there. My guy got me another copy and I could finally beat it awhile later.

Course, you risk something like that happening any time you buy a game.
