He is looking for "simple and easy" so thats what I listed, if he said "innovative and complex" the list would look VERY different.

Yes there are lots of better RPGs on the DS but they dont fall under "simple and easy". Games like Infinite Space, TWEWY, Radiant Historia and SMT:SJ are great RPGs but they dont really fall under "simple and easy".

My list of recommended games is based on what the TC is looking for and not how popular or "good" the games are. Why would I recommend a bunch of games that dont fall under what the TC is looking for? He wants simple turn based combat in an easy game. Thats what I listed.

Glory of Heracles, Nostalgia, and Magical Starsign were actually fun enjoyable games. Generic and simple yes but fun none the less. Not everything has to be TWEWY or Radiant Historia to be good.

It's not that I don't got a full 6 pack, I just lack the plastic thing that holds it all together.

Most similar? Either of the DQM -- Joker games. Even the camera A.I. during battles in DQ9 is lifted from DQM -- Joker. But yeah, I was also going to suggest Four Heroes of Light if you're looking for an uber-straightforward battle system. I loved the game, though I do wish you had more control over who you attacked/healed/etc. during combat.

K thanks everyone for the suggestions.

I'm really getting back into Jrpg's even though I haven't really played that many. I don't want to play one that is going to make me hate them. So safe bet was to grab DQ 4 & 5.

I know I will like those. I'm thinking DQMJ as well because it seems to have some stuff similar to DQ9 but not as good.

TWEWY just does not interest me at all. I will probably never play it even though it's rated really highly. I try to watch a few gameplay videos of games I'm interested in to get a feel for what they play like but you only get so much of an idea from them.

One more question. Any good Action RPG's that DON'T use the stylus to control ?

I'm more into Turn based rpg's but I wouldn't mind trying out a good action oriented one either. I'm not interested in the Blue Dragon games though.

Thanks again for your help.

Mhm: MegaMan Star Force Series.

Avoid the related videos, and don't watch the videos to the end where the related videos checker across the screen.

Star Force Style Dungeon

You'll get an idea of a normal encounter, but, while whoever made this video is good at making videos, his fighting needs a little work.

Star Force Style Boss

This contains no spoiler, really, since this isn't a story boss (avoid the related videos!). There are side bosses, and I think many of them came from fan contests, actually...this guy in particular is easy even in his final incarnation (all bosses have many levels of difficulty for each time beaten).

I can gladly tell you more if you're interested.

Go to Gamestop, buy a Steam card, and use it to purchase Ys Origin. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks Zin.

Yea I'm looking for an RPG that is somewhat Turnbased mixed with action.

A lot of the ARPG's seem to have puzzle solving and dungeons and are more Zelda like.

I'm trying to do more grinding and side quests more so than dungeons and puzzles, if that makes any sense at all.

Like DQ 9 but with an ARPG twist,....i guess. lol

Then Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow is what you're looking for.

Zelda is an ACTION-ADVENTURE, not an RPG!!!

K sounds good. I watched a few gameplay videos..couldn't find a ton of them, but how does it play ?

My guy/hero gets to fight as well as my Blue Dragon ? I'm more into me fighting rather than having pets fight.

Just bought Suikoden....That seemed out of all the options, the most appealing to me.

About to start playing.

Suikoden was actaully pretty fun on DS. granted its supposed to be more FF like (it was my first game from the franchise) the VAing starts kinda terrible but it gets a lot better as it goes. pretty fun game really simple but charming. not all that much grinding and i liked the story for what it was to.

Golden sun is really easy to even teh GBA ones are super easy.

i also recemend Megaman BN/Megaman starforce Remeber it was made to slightly cator towards the pokemon crowd (no idea if you remember when megaman NT warrior used to come on TV) thus its not all that super difficult or hard to understand but it does have some depth and it plenty of fun.

While not on DS per say (japanese only) the Tales of games tend to be pretty much the ARPG mixed with RPG hybrid champs i would definitly look into those if you want a good mixed game their namely on PS3 360 3DS wii gamecube PS2 PSP if you have any of those.
