I didn't really understand that post as first, I must have misread.
For some reason I took it as if you were coming down on people who just aren't that good at the game, not those who ignore facts and use the "Playing for fun" defense.

Sorry about that.

I'd just like to state, even though no one will likely take notice, that special lows are not useless. They still crush highs, and some are likely your quickest option. Who is going to throw out a random jump anyway? About as often as I get hopkicked out of a low in Tekken.

It's all about the frames.

Hm... Depends on the comp I guess. Quite a few people I know jump ALOT (habit from SCII?), and some can even jump 2Ks on reaction.

Well, I do jump lows with Asta. For some reason ,my opponents always go for lows after a successful block.

Im glad some one finnally posted this so people know about it on the sticky.(hopefully if they take the time to read it.) Though alot of it did come off as a bit pretenious I must say.

It is the metric system of fighting games, as wasnt for namco being dumb putting B for vertical strike (how they got B for the button I'll never understand.) wouldnt have been needed. Id understood if they went, A B C D, like how many SNK games are. But they didnt, they went A B, G K,huh holy inconsistency batman. Or could gone H,V,G,K, either would made ten times more sense than asiding A to horizonal, and B to vertical, which B screws up people simply keeping old school system of B for back, for not reason than a dense programer thought was a good idea. (which id beat senseless if they ever identified themselves in my presence)

Playing for fun is legit, and if people cant grasp that, as often i find top lvl play misses that. The play style become mechanical, and people start analyzing aspects of the game to point they suck the life out of it. Ive been harcore before, but I find most my friends arent interested pushing their gaming as far as I used to now days.

If you still run with that crowd, more power to ya. Im just happy people play anything at this point, even if its totally casual and my friends suck heh. Im too old for power gaming(Im 26) , and take whatever I can get for my gaming fix.

There are special circumstances, but if someone has to say "Well... I was just playing for fun." Means that they actually did care to win. So they should learn. Plus, if you're not playing for fun... why are playing?
Also, a bit of a nit pick, the first post should have HMmLl for the hit levels instead of just HML.

one question that i should've asked years ago:

all the machines i've seen have the button layout as g,a,b,k from left to right. if that's the case with all the machines, couldn't we have just used tekken's number system and have g=1, a=2, b=3 and k=4 and just use the more common directional indicators?

didn't pay much attention to many videogame sites during soul blade and sc1 era, only after tekken 3, that's why i'm asking.
