i mean come on ...... i know companies copy features from each other all the time but the Wii U Pro controller is damm near a copy of the xbox 360 controller except for the placement of the 2nd analog stick

i think they should be sued ......microsoft probably has the ergonomic shape of their controller patented knowing them

Microsoft have sued Datel before for creating the Wildfire controller which infringed on several design patents (5 maybe 6 i believe) from the Xbox 360 controller.

Thinking about it, this is probably the reason why the right analog stick on the Wii U controller is above the face buttons, besides to resemble the Wii U gamepad.

I thought this was a joke at first. The fact that the face buttons are below the analog stick looks like it'd be so uncomfortable, too. Though, I do think Zart is right with his reasoning.

Why are people assuming that this is a copy? Look at all the controllers right now

DS3- dpad and face buttons on top, both sticks on the bottom
Wii's Classic Controller pro - Literally same design as the ds3, sans trigger buttons
360 controller- Identical to the DS3 except the right side is flipped (top buttons, bottom stick).

Then this controller is revealed, and people are crying copy because of form factor? Look, i'm not happy with the design either but to call any controller a copy of another, and you are fighting an ongoing battle because in this day, controllers are not changing and have adapted to your typical dual stick, 4 face button and 4 on top.

And by the way guys, if anything it's a reverse dualshock, but that's the comparison i see more fit.

I'm all for companies getting ideas from each other, so I have no issue with their decision, especially since they are moving away from full on motion controls. That being said, people are calling this a copy due to the design and shape of the controller. How can you not see an exact comparison? Literally the only difference is the face buttons and the analog are swapped.

OMG they finally made a controller I like since the SNES! Even though it's pretty much the 360 controller, the 360 controller to me is THE best controller EVER made. I really do not like the light weight PS3 controller with it's ultra sensitive analog sticks; which I feel are way too close together. Also the triggers are god awful to me, and I am a shooter junkie. That's why I might sell my PS3.

I made a topic the other day bashing Nintendo, especially for their N64 controller and despite a lot of people liking it; I did not like the GC controller.

Also, when PS1 came out I felt it was just an updated version of the SNES controller. I loved it. I hope MS doesn't do what Sony did, and make their controller worse when they have it pretty much perfect IMO. I actually prefer the PS2 controller over the PS3 ones have those triggers.

Heck, I'd be happy if all 3 next gen consoles just used the same controller. :P I may even give Nintendo a chance next gen.. if they can get good third party support and a good on-line thing going like Xbox live.

Wait a second, I just read the article. I'm confused, the system isn't out right? Why is that their advanced controller, and that ugly tablet looking thing is their default controller. What in the heck is that ugly Wii-U controller? It looks way too dang wide and flat because of a stupid screen, which again I say this about Nintendo: Gimmicks.
