Will any usb wireless network adapter work on the 360.

I just moved and now my 360 is far away from a wired connection. The ones recommended on amazon are expensive and I have one I used to use on a laptop, will that one work.

no but if you still have a laptop and a ethernet cable you can bridge your network connections and use your laptop as your wireless adapter

I have a Linksys wireless gaming adapter that I bought before the xbox 360 was out. I have it set up and it works. I let my friend use it when he comes to my house while I use my xbox wireless adapter.

But it is an ethernet adapter, not a USB adapter, isn't it?

The only USB adapters that work are the ones specifically made for the 360, the console does not have the drivers for pc adapters to work.

Is it a USB adapter, or do you have to run an ethernet cable from the 360 to it?

Oops my mistake too. Tc should know that he doesnt have to use a usb wireless adapter. You can use an ethernet one too. My linksys wireless gaming adapter is an ethernet one.

There is one limitation to using a wireless ethernet bridge though, it requires an available outlet for its AC adapter, which may be an issue for some people depending on their setup, where as the USB adapter is powered by the 360 through the USB port.
