Is it safe to max out the contrast on an HDTV when playing the 360?

Im just asking because I heard that contrast at 100 is the optimal setting for HD gaming but on the other hand I hear that it can decrease the life span.

I have mine set to 95, not sure where you heard that about running it at 100 will decrease the life span sound like BS to me.

The only thing I heard that could be bad was running the back light at 100% can shorten the life of that.

Go for it if you want to use 100.

There is no such thing as an "optimal setting" that somehow works across all HDTVs in all possible environments.

Look up the calibration settings posted on various AV websites by people who have the same model of TV as you, and try them out and see what looks good on your TV in the lighting conditions that you have it in. Don't just max out settings for no reason.

100 contrast will typically give poor picture and color
Still hoping for a Shenmue 3.
