Can you use your Xbox 360 controller for PC games?

I know they have the 360 controllers for PC specifically you can buy but can you use the one that comes with the Xbox itself on the PC?

I downloaded the software but I can't seem to get it to work.

A wired 360 controller is the easiest way to go, but you can buy an adapter to use your wireless controller on a PC. Not sure if they still make them though but you might be able to find one on Amazon or something.

Yes you can, but you need the reciever to plug into your PC via USB if you are using a wireless controller. Unfortunately MS doens't make these anymore, but you can still find them at places like eBay and Amazon. And NO, the play n Charge will not work for making a "wired" connection, the Play N Charge charges the controller battery only and does not use the connection to send your inputs to the console/PC.
Otherwise you can just hook up any Xbox 360 wired controller to a USB port and if you are running a current version of Windows, then it should read it and install the drivers for you automatically.

You can use a wired controller or buy the receiver for the wireless controllers.

Oh you need a recieverrr ok then.

I'll just use a wired controller for now.
