Hi. My xbox 360 just got 3 lights yesterday and it has been my 5th xbox that gotten the RROD. Called customer service to check see if i was able to get a free repair. He checked my console ID and said it is out of warranty but you can pay $150 for a repair. I kindly told him that i will pass on the offer since it is not really worth it when i can save up a few more cash to get a new 360 slim. Ok i am planning on getting a xbox 360 slim 250gb hopefully around September and October before all the good games come out like MW3, Nba, Forza. Just wondering if anyone has experience any issue/ problems with the 360 slim. I saw a few videos on youtube about the hardware issue and stuff like that but is it really common for the slim to have any issue or w.e like the old 360 had (RROD) Just want to hear from you guys on the pro and cons you have experienced.

No console is perfect but it is definitely way more reliable. You don't see much people having problems like they used to.

I wouldn't say that but it's a damn sight better made than the previous 360s. Shame it took them 5 years since the original 360 launched to make it right.
Currently Playing: Wipeout Series (PS1,PS2, PS3, PSP), Forza Motorsport Series (Xbox, Xbox 360).

To be fair it took 2 years of research to find out
1) there was a consistent problem
2) what that problem was.

It took longer to then find out how to combat it. Given more time and research they pretty much eliminated it from the old models.
The S was a complete redesign and it's not like it took the entire 5 years to come up with it.

My 360 Slim started freezing up a few weeks back, after doing the whole: clean, dust and cool down thing, it still froze up. After removing the hard drive for about a day and not using my Xbox for that day - *touchwood* it's been fine :) Apart from that it's a solidly built machine, I got it at launch over in the UK, so last July time and that's been the first sign of any trouble :)

The Xbox 360S are great. I love mine, so worth the upgrade from the older model. But, as is true with any electronic, it can break without warning.
Dr. House and Dr. Cox should team up and cure everything.
