Played this game to death on the original Xbox so I never got it for 360...

WTF EA?
Every other online enabled game from the 360's release onward still has online play enabled save for yours (sans Chromehounds....R.I.P.), what's the deal?

P2P games are still online.
Dedicated server games (EA games) have online access removed.

This is why it's ironic that people whine about Xbox Live being Peer-to-Peer. When people get the dedicated servers they're clamoring for, they complain when those servers are eventually taken down.

Yeah, let's continue to run expensive servers for maybe 30 or so people.

Having a max of a 30 players isn't profitable for any server host. They would shut it down as well. Or, they could use the wonderful P2P system. Plenty of lag, low player counts, and host advantage make this system miles better than dedicated servers.

If me and my friend wanted to go and play Prey or Quake 4 or something online, we still can. It may be losing somebody some money to keep those running, but they're still there.

The ignorance on this board is astounding. Gaming is a business, and what do businesses strive to do? Make a profit, and keeping these servers up aren't profitable.

You realize that the games aren't on dedicated servers, right? They're still p2p like the vast majority of other Xbox 360 games. Only difference is that you need to connect to EA first, which doesn't cost them much in bandwidth but allows them to shut the games down.
