How did microsoft get away with patenting playing custom music during games?

That's STUPID. You shouldnt be able to patent stuff like that.

Later on we're going to have to buy only 1 brand of remotes because they patented a pause button and no other remote can have it

god damn it...

You can't copyright single words. You can trade mark single words but you can't copyright them.

And patents in the digital industry are really messed up. Companies largely purchase patents just so they don't get sued by others. Some people have made a living bullying companies into "licensing" the patents they own or threaten a lawsuit.

Enormous boulders rolled down hills as AzurexNightmare began an uncontrollable frenzy of anger, while expressing his unhappiness with custom music and the like. "Behold the stupidity", he bellowed, and a mother carrying a small child could be seen frantically running away from the madness. Angered to the point of no return, he closed by summoning forth the gods themselves.

Then everyone would talk in the third-person.

.....

Matter of fact, you should do that.

Neither patented those phrases.

They are TRADEMARKED.

Patents are for inventions.

You can't copyright a letter.

It's scares me how stupid people are sometimes.
