Only have the first one, and I think you would like it thought it's not as 'new and polished'. Gunplay is as fun and is the driving and characters. Pretty similar.

There was nothing to do in Mafia 2, besides the story missions. Collecting the magazines doesn't count, because that was pointless, and pretty useless.

In The Godfather games there's plenty of stuff to do, but overall, Mafia 2 is a better game I reckon.
