When they review a game that gets an "8 out of 10" the word "Great" is right beside it, could be a UK thing, haven't checked the states, but really, a B is great?

No. Only 10/10's deserve the word "Great". In fact, in the states there's a large push to get a "B" changed to a failing grade, since you're either perfect or you fail.

To me a 8/10 is good, 9/10 would be great.

Look on gfaqs, to them an eight is also great, so no, it's not a UK thing, unless this is a british site now?

I like IGN too!

Most of the times.......

I like watching their daily fix and some video reviews anyways.

not saying i always agree with ign's scores, but they do give me a rough idea what to expect from most games

i have noticed reviews show a little bias, but then i think most do in general, just some moreso than others

I thought Gamespot were the ones who were best paid? Didn't one dude quit there because he didn't want to do a good review for a bad game or something like that?

As for reviews, I don't think an 8 should be great. Very good, maybe, but not great. Great should be 9+, IMO.

Gamespot were caught redhanded because of one review, but IGN consistently ****s out blatantly paid for review scores on a more consistent basis.
