Tritton or Turtle Beach?

I'm looking at two models in particular, the Turtle Beach DX11 and the Trttion AX 180.

The biggest pro for the TB headset is that it comes with the DSS thing allowing for 5/1/7.1 digital surround sound. The biggest pro for the Tritton is that it's universal, I have both 360 and PS3. Even though 360 is my primary console, it would be nice to be able to use the headset for everything.

I don't know, which brand is better in general? Or is it like PCs in the sense that every brand has their ups and downs?

Get the Tritton 720s.

They are the same cost as the dx11s, have the surround sound, and work on both 360 and ps3. Plus they have better sound quality than the dx11s IMO.

Not sure why you would compare a stereo headset with one that comes with the simulated surround, of course you would want the surround. You should compare it to the Tritton equivalent, which is the ax 720
