Question regarding achievements on X360

#1Atreju_Posted 10/8/2011 5:43:48 AM
Hi guys. I'm a rather new gamer on the 360. I used to own a PS3 and on that system, if you can get all the trophies in a retail game, it awards you with a platinum trophy.

Since I'm kind of new to the 360 and haven't completed a game for 100% achievement I need to ask... Do you get any reward on the 360 if you get a retail game's achievements to 100% ? Extra points or something?

Thanks.

A couple games have a "collect every other achievement" achievement that basically serves as a platinum trophy, but that's about it.

No but getting 1000/1000 on a game adds that game up front under a special thing for games where you got all the achievements.

Some achievements earn you avatar awards such as shirts and hats

Hmmm that's weird... I thought if you managed to get 1000/1000 you'd get another extra 1000 points or something for all the effort you've put into the game.

What's the point then? I mean someone could buy tons of games and complete half the achievements and still get more points than you in the long run if you dont buy a lot of games or if you play them slowly as a completionist.

Yeah I know you can call me an achievement whore but on the PS3 I used to separate men from kids based on their platinum trophies.

There is a separate panel under My Xbox where your 100% games are kept, and if people check your profile on xbox.com, they can see both your completion percentage and how many games you have maxed out. They should add that to the dashboard in this year's fall update.

It's pretty easy to spot someone doing that, though.

Do platinum trophies make you feel all giddy inside? I guess its a good system sony completely ripped off from microsoft. Guess you should of kept your ps3, because you will get nothing special for a 1000'd game.

People who play alot of games, and at the same time 1000/1000 them usually have very large gamerscores. Somebody who has played hundreds of games since the 360 came out is going to have a larger gamerscore than somebody who doesn't max out the achievements.

And like I also said, getting all the achievments puts the game under a seperate category and displays games you've maxed out. Not really sure what a platinum trophy does. The same thing I'm guessing.
