Both are worth your time, but I would say Mass Effect. I'm a bit biased, though, since I tend not to like SRPGs very much. Valkyria Chronicles is an exception to that, though I still liked the first ME game better. --- i5 2500k - Sapphire 5850 - MSI Z68A-GD80 - OCZ Fatal1ty 550W - GSkill 12GB - 1.5TB Caviar Green - NZXT Beta EVO

Get disgaea 4 instead of both.

VC if you like bad games, ME1 if you like great games.

But you wont enjoy it as much since you played ME2 first. But youll still probably really enjoy it.
ME1 is one of only two games that completely blew me away story wise. It wasnt that the plot was so amazing or anything... just the way it unfolded was fantastic. The last 6 or so hours is probably the best stretch in a game that Ive ever played.
But since you already know what happens, and have gotten used to the superior ME2 gameplay, I doubt it will have the same effect on you (but Im betting you will still love it). --- XBL: eL Sm3gmA ::: PSN: Smegtico "so continue to not care, while a bunch of fat pre teen kids teabag you"- shrub999

Valkyria Chronicles easily: much more enjoyable than the first Mass Effect. --- "Step 1: Crawl inside. Step 2: The screws go tight, all around. Cross my heart and hope to die. Stick a needle in your eye"

Thanks a lot for your input guys, I think I'll be going with VC because you made the point that i've already gotten used to the improvements of me2. Maybe in a few months when me2's combat system isn't as fresh I should go back to Me1? --- Psn: thiefbeef XBL: z0mgthiefbeef
If you brace yourself for the fact that ME1's controls are a step back from 2, you'll enjoy it a lot. The beginning is slow, but you won't be able to put it down once it gets going. Don't forget about transferring your Shepard from 1 to 2 and soon 3. Getting 1 will help you enjoy playing 2 again if you choose to do so. --- "Am I missing an eyebrow?"

Yeah I'll definitely do that once we get closer to me3. I'll playthrough 1 and then 2 again, and I'll use that character for 3 --- Psn: thiefbeef XBL: z0mgthiefbeef
