Is 2011 the "1999" of gaming for our newer generation?

#1Who knowsPosted 10/17/2011 5:20:00 PM
That is, the slightly younger generation than us 20+ year olds. (The ones that may have grown up as the N64/PS1 were dying off and the GCN/PS2 started to become the next big thing. Instead of the NES/SNES/GENESIS era being the one dying off.)

It seems like it.

If so, I hope they know how to write a cogent post that accurately expresses their ideas in a manner that's easily understood.

It's an awesome "Fall" But not year so far. Zelda needs to be gold, AC R also... But there isn't much more coming till March.

GC and PS2 didn't come out until 2001 and 2000 respectively, so I don't know why you're dating this at 1999 (aka Year of the Dreamcast).

Hell no.

If Skyrim didn't come out in November, this whole holiday season would just be meh. (Batman AC doesn't count as a "holiday" release, imo.)

I think this year is good, but it really is not even touching 1999.

2010 was quite a bit like 1998 I felt.

1999 had Crash Team Racing, Spyro 2, Donkey Kong 64, Pokemon Yellow...

Mmm... not sure.
