I wonder why some HD Collections come to the 360..

..and others don't?

DMC - 360

Splinter Cell - nope

Silent Hill 2 and 3 - 360

Prince of Persia - nope

If they do port the Splinter Cells to the 360 I sure hope they include the inverted Y axis so I can actually purchase it / play it... wow, what a boner that turned out to be..alienate 1/3-1/2 of the people buying.

probably because the publishers and developers know that they cant make enough money off of them and are better off putting their time and resources into other projects.
just a wild guess.

I don't get the absence of the Ubisoft collections either, it really makes no sense as the originals were on Xbox too.

^ Not to mention that the first three Splinter Cell games were exclusive to the original Xbox for a good six months or so.

On-topic; I think the Splinter Cell and PoP HD collections are the only ones that aren't on the 360 so far. And also Stranger's Wrath HD, which again is weird since the Xbox is the only console the original was available on.

REZ HD on Xbox, not on PS3.

Sign of a MSG4 port.

splinter cell collections were complete junk on the ps3. framerate problems and inconsistencies. its a ubisoft decision and they must have thought that these games would sell better in europe which has a larger install base of ps3s.

Still hoping for a Shenmue 3.

It's because BC. You gotta remember that Sony took away BC from the PS3 and MS didn't for the 360. If people can already play them on the 360, they probably won't buy it. See the trend of HD collection that isn't on the 360.

Hmm. I think it may come down to something like this:

-DMC 1, 2, and 3 were never playable on an MS brand console. The HD collection solves that.

-Silent Hill 3 was never playable on an MS brand console. The HD collection solves that.

The Ubisoft games were all playable on the original Xbox console, and they were the best versions to get on top of that. It is better to gain new titles that were never in your portfolio as opposed to ones you already had the best versions of.

I don't think MS is thinking "well everybody had a PS2 last gen" lol. That is irrelevant to them. They are focused on growing their library. If the third parties are interested in putting their PS2 remasters on the 360, then MS has no reason to turn them down imo.
