The X41 sound really good for gaming, but some people have some issues with crackling. Like the boom mic has static. Move the boom mic and it makes it worse. Kind of stops, but starts up again. Really annoying. That's what made me go for the Astro system.
The Astro mixamp + A40 headphones themselves aren't that much of a step above the X41, so I would say that if you're not having problems with the X41 just skip it. But if you get something like the Astro Mixamp + Sennheiser PC360, that would be a significant step up.
And your point about shipping is a very good point. Even in the US where Astro is from the shipping was expensive.
Ok thanks, the only issue I did have was that it cut off my internet when my wireless dongle was too close to it. Moving that from one end of the table to the other fixed that though. Not had much in the way of popping issues so far but I will bear that in mind. The Astro's, I just found out, would cost me £215 delivered, I could probably get around £90ish for my X41's however
