The slim can still have hardware failures, but they no longer give a RROD, it's a dot now. The failure rate seems to be lower, though time will tell.
You can't make an omelette without crushing dozens of eggs beneath your steel boot and then publicly disemboweling the chickens that laid them as a warning.

No 360 is safe from a Red Ring/Dot, but yeah, slims should have a low failure rate, and also to take care of it properly.

The dot is a different error.
The original error from the original design has been eliminated. The red dot indicates an overheating issue, which was previously 2 lights.

They get a red dot now (red eye of death). I only had mine for less than 2 weeks until I had to send it in for repairs. I think I just got very unlucky though because I believe the failure rate is very low on the slims.
