The slim can still have hardware failures, but they no longer give a RROD, it's a dot now. The failure rate seems to be lower, though time will tell. --- You can't make an omelette without crushing dozens of eggs beneath your steel boot and then publicly disemboweling the chickens that laid them as a warning.
No 360 is safe from a Red Ring/Dot, but yeah, slims should have a low failure rate, and also to take care of it properly. --- "Jitterbug, He who Opens the Door" - DeathSmiles - Live/PSN/YouTube: NeoStrayCat (=^_^=)

The dot is a different error. The original error from the original design has been eliminated. The red dot indicates an overheating issue, which was previously 2 lights. --- "I don't know, it's an impossible choice...I just have to hope that when I flip the coin it somehow explodes and kills me."
They get a red dot now (red eye of death). I only had mine for less than 2 weeks until I had to send it in for repairs. I think I just got very unlucky though because I believe the failure rate is very low on the slims. --- http://www.backloggery.com/Dr_Akula
