If the ps4 can play used games and the xbox 720 can't, ps4 sales will decimate xbox 720, based on the theory that most gamers buy more used games than new

If you were a developer why would you release your game on the PS4 if you knew that by releasing in only on xbox you'd be guaranteed income from every sale?

Because of the millions of potential new sales you get from releasing on more than one console... Come on, that's common sense.

Install base. People aren't going to buy a system they can't borrow games, rent, or buy games out of print on it even if they usually buy new.

Sony actually patented this Sort of device before the PS3 was released it codes a disc only to be used on the first device it's used on

I do believe that technology like that could be considered illegal in the USA under Fair Use laws, we're allowed by law to sell whatever we buy, whether the original companies like it or not.

You would think so, but EA has done it before, and Steam currently does it. So nothings stopping Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo from using it.

How has EA done it when EA doesn't make consoles and no console modifies the disc itself???

And Steam is selling DIGITAL copies, anybody who buys into digital distribution hasn't bothered to run the numbers.....
