This would ideally be a game that many people don't even know about, but a game that just flat out didn't sell well (but you still liked, obviously) could qualify as well.

For me it's Maken X on the Dreamcast. Basically the premise is that there's this sword who can posses people, and each new person it posses has slightly different abilities. So, as you play through the game you get to experience new ways to fight as you go along. It's a first person game but it's a first person fighter where you lock on the enemies then you can attack/block/flip over them/etc.

The man negative of the game was the controls, as you can imagine playing any first person game with the DC's controller wasn't that great. I'd love to see a sequel down with dual analog sticks and better controls...
