Best hunting/fishing game

I'm looking for something new. What is the best hunting or fishing game for the system?

Are all the Cabela's games pretty much the same?

I haven't played any of the Cabela games, so I can't comment on those. But check out Sega Bass Fishing on XBLA, I believe it's 800 msp. It's worth downloading the demo.

Cabelas games are great if the price is right. Dont expect a open map to explore. They are pretty linear on where to go but its all we have on consoles.

Im a huge hunter/ fisher so my love for the series may be bias. If you find them cheap and enjoy hunting pick them up.

Rapala's Pro Bass Fishing is actually a really good fishing sim. I enjoyed it a lot, the time limits are generous and it includes a 'free play' mode that is unlimited, you get a wide variety of lures to pick from and many to unlock, as well as boats and outfits. The fish-o-pedia gives good info about what fish you need to catch and how to locate them in the larger areas. I got it via GameFly and loved it.

Avoid Rapala Fishing Frenzy 2009. No question one of the worst games I've ever played. I don't expect complete realism from a fishing game, but things like lure selection, retrieve, and conditions should matter at least a little, but nothing does in that game-- trick is more about NOT catching fish (the wrong types, anyways. I wrote a more in-depth bash on the game's forum here.)

If you have a Wii, get Fishing Resort, IMO most fun fishing game out there, comes closest to capturing the enjoyment of real fishing.

Does it play like Sega Bass Fishing with underwater view? That's what I liked about Sega Bass Fishing.

Yes the only views are under the water 90%. The view is with the lure at all times, except when casting or driving the boat.
