RIP Splinter Cell

"Meh old splinter cell was pretty boring and required you to use nothing but stealth which is fair enough but i like choice! At least now we have options, something games like MGS have been doing since mgs1 as well as hitman"

Actually both games (in their old days) didn't give you many options besides HIDING once you've triggered an alert... Sure, you could try and pick some people off with whatever weapons you had --- but the game's never really seemed DESIGNED to allow you to do this fluidly, so it always felt foreign (in my opinion)...

I do agree that the earlier SC games felt BORING, and I (personally) only started to get very interested in them around Double Agent, but like I said: Conviction blew me away...

So I just watched the demo, and sure, the sneaking looks just about as unrealistic as it does in just about every other stealth game I've played... And that's because you have to work within the games stealth mechanics in order to implement stealth and sneak by enemies, as in: stay out of their line of vision (however limited it may be), and don't make noise, etc.

Does anyone know if this game will have the same light/dark mechanics as Conviction?

"It used to make sense because you'd be doing all this at night, and if they saw you then you could run off and disappear into the darkness. And you could realistically stalk one guy without having to worry that the rest of the entire camp can see you a mile away."

That doesn't necessarilly make sense at all with the invention of night vision goggles and thermal...

The author of the comment I responded to was speaking a GENERALIZED sense, however... If you want to be technical on the matter, proving your belief system on the subject, it would be required for you to submit video and/or photographic evidence of every single character in the game that Sam Fisher has ever interacted with throughout the entire Splinter Cell series in order for others to verify that none of them were wearing any form of night vision and/or thermal goggles...

Thank you for your time...

The author of the comment was me. And are you insane? Only a handful of enemies in SC have ever worn NV goggles. Hell, half the time they were merely security guards.

How do you know those security guards didn't have high tech devices implanted in their brains enhancing their vision and allowing them to see better in the night?

I hate you. And so does everyone in your life that you think actually like you. They don't. We were all pretending. How does that feel? I bet it hurts. Good.
