Definitely alternate paths.
As Sun mentioned, the Witcher 2 is a good example. But even just something like the multiple endings and factions in Dark Souls can be incentive enough to replay a game.

If it's a good enough game, I will probably play it again. I don't know how many times I've gone through Super Mario Bros. 3, but that game never gets old and it doesn't have online capabilities, branching paths (at least not the way I play it), or unlockables. --- ba-weep-gra-na-weep-ninny-bong
