This is what has become of Rare under Microsoft.

Rare was already crap before Microsoft bought it. MS is just an easy scapegoat even though rare didn't release anything for Nintendo consoles after (year) 2000.

No just no lol. Rare was already working on games on the GameCube and handhelds. There was a Perfect Dark sequel [or prequel?] running on the GameCube platform. Rare are great developers, or at least they were. After MS purchased them the majority of the team left lol. No one wanted to work for MS first party. They were Free Radical, purchased by Crytek. So now they are Crytek UK working on Crysis 3.

Now the Rare that MS has forced into it's Kinect Studio division doesn't make games that appeal to me personally. They've proven they can still develop games, but MS still puts them on Kinect projects [Kinect Studios].

Free Radical was created in late 1998. Rare was purchased in 2002. There's a FOUR YEAR difference between what you claim and reality.

Rare sucks and Microsoft is even worse for not knowing how to use them. With Nintendo, they developed great games. With Microsoft, crap. Kinect sports games??? Seriously??? Rare goes from GoldenEye 007 to Banjo to Conker to Perfect Dark to Star Fox Adventures to Kinect sports games???

WOW!!! Talk about a developer going in reverse. UGH. Oh well.

2011
Xbox 360 Kinect Sports: Calorie Challenge 04/26/11 North America
2012
Xbox 360 Kinect Sports: Season Two - Midnight Mountain Ski Pack 01/10/12 North America
Xbox 360 Kinect Sports: Season Two - Challenge Pack #2 03/01/12 North America
Xbox 360 Kinect Sports: Season Two - Basketball Challenge Pack 04/03/12 North America
Xbox 360 Ski Race

you wut? Sports, sports, sports, sports, sports and a racing game.. which is a sport.

Before 2010 they released Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, an average game at best, sucks compared to the originals. Viva pinata is weird and different, but i can get that type of stuff on XBLA through indie devs which tend to be more fun.

And Perfect Dark Zero, a prequel to an awesome game. Shame Zero sucks hard.

The Kinect Sports games are DAMN fun. It's YOUR problem that you're too damn stuck-up to enjoy it.

Fitness is not a game. You might find working out fun, but its not a game, its working out. Being fun doesn't equate game.

Y'know what? We need to have someone dig up a definitive history of what happened to Rare during the Nintendo/Microsoft transition (ie, staff leaving and all that) and just put it as a damn sticky, because whiney topics about Rare sucking show up every week.

Elitist? I think not. Spazzing out in front of a tv which half the time won't recognise your location is NOT a game.

Says you. That's your definition. Meanwhile, sales say otherwise. Guess what development firms are in the business for? It's not for their health, that's for sure.

There was a time when controllers were the new way to work games. Before that, it was a keyboard.

Times change. Deal with it. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it any less true.

@RPG_Apostle
There was a time, a time before cable, when the local anchorman reigned supreme. When people believed everything they heard on TV. This was an age when only men were allowed to read the news, and in San Diego, one anchorman was more man then the rest.

Kinect sports aren't fitness. There are fitness add-ons for it, but it's far from a fitness application like Your Shape.
