I was expecting a list of games like Red Dead Redemption and Call of Juarez Bound in Blood :/

Say whaaaaat? Dude, these games....these are the games. After playing these you'll never go back to whatever it was you were playing before.

Fallout New Vegas is better than everything on that list

Except Fallout 3 was a better game.

Oh, and I've never played Mirror's Edge. I might pick it up as it's pretty cheap :D

Amazing game but not for everyone. It only clicked for me after I realized it's all about style. It's not enough to simply stumble through from point A to point B, you need to do it with style. Even if I clear an area I'll replay it again and again until I feel...cool.

Amazing art direction too. This generation is full of games with a 'destroyed beauty' theme (see Gears), but Dice said "nah, we're going to make a 1984 dystopia that is future perfect and spotless, nothing old and worn down, everything crisp and new, full of corporate art". This a game about running across skyscrapers as fast as you can but at any time you can stop and notice there's cars and even people walking the streets far below, whenever you stop to take it all in it does feel like a living city.

Dice wanted to make the 'opposite-Battlefield' game and they succeeded. This game actually has more in common with Portal than any other first person game but that would take a lot more explanation.
