Actually, it was the Atari 2600 version of Pac-Man, my cousins had a 2600 and I remember being less than thrilled that it looked so much different than the arcade version.

Gah! Tired, skipped over 'online' in the topic title. I am filled with shame.

First online console game was Halo 2, maybe a week after it came out. Had never played 1, then was like "Eh, I'll rent it and give it a try." Instantly hooked.

High point for my Halo 2 playing was a 4-man Team Slayer where I had an absolute perfect match; I ended up getting 25 of the kills myself.

Halo 2 on my college's network. There was almost always a game of anywhere between 8-32 people (32 I think was the cap?).

I played PC games online ages before that, so I wasn't going out of my way to get online on the console.

Halo 2. I still consider it my favorite multiplayer game, even though I didn't play it for very long. That's probably the nostalgia talking. :P
