This game is the only counter I will ever need for people who say "gaming is getting stale...blah blah, rehash, blah."
its nothing innovative and new tho, just a solid rehash.
of what Of the old point and click style games, such as Maniac Mansion. MM was astoundingly innovative, and should be played by everyone as required gaming. Whether or not you prefer the sequel Day of the Tentacle over the original is subjective, but they're both incredible. But yes, Sunny, Priest is right on this one. --- www.bewaretherobotsquad.comArucard05's blog. Endorsed by me. Since I wrote the only thing worth reading on it. |

But yes, Sunny, Priest is right on this one. I understand there are other point and clicks, but did they tell a fantastic story as TWD does? --- Have you ever had a turkeyburger? Is that a fried turkey leg wrapped inside a burger? Because if so, then yes. Delicious. |

HeLeehamPosted 11/21/2012 7:33:35 AM | BTW Sun I actually agree with you. Same genre =/= rehash. |
RPG_ApostlePosted 11/21/2012 7:33:40 AM | I haven't seen a point and click evoke as many gutwrenching and emotional responses as WD has for me. However, I haven't played many of them, either. --- www.bewaretherobotsquad.com Arucard05's blog. Endorsed by me. Since I wrote the only thing worth reading on it. |
pothocketPosted 11/21/2012 7:41:40 AM (edited) | I don't know how you can compare Walking Dead to Day of the Tentacle (which I LOVE) and claim it doesn't innovate. It uses the core mechanics but completely shifts the focus away from puzzle solving. Walking Dead has a gameplay direction focused on narrative. The risk/reward decisions you make are story based. Old school Point-n-click are nothing like that.
The closest one I can think of is The Last Express but that is a very linear story. Go to GoG and pick this game up now if you haven't played it yet. It's only about $5, probably less. It's Jordan Mechner's best game and no one's even heard of it : ( --- well I am not like your dad. I worked as a chef at TGIF-Mattson |
HulkxxSMASHPosted 11/21/2012 9:57:33 AM | I'm downloading it now but want to play it all in one so I'm going to have to wait until at least tomorrow to play.
I'll have to tiptoe around the boards 'til then lest I inadvertently see some spoilers which I've avoided thus far because I don't play day one... --- Hulk is strongest one there is... Hulk is... only one there is... only one... there... is... Hulk feels... cold |
