Actually I just looked over at my game-cd-blu ray rack, I also forgot to mention LIPS, SF 4, and Dance Central, all great local multi player games. You know, for people who like to play with other people. There's nothing wrong with a good single player game (Alan Wake, Dishonored, Silent Hill, Dragons Dogma), but you shouldn't box yourself into a corner and ONLY play them.

That line does have a saucy, inter-racial porn vibe to it now that you mention it...

As far as I'm concerned, Xbox Live is purely for gaming with friends and family. I've played with random folks before, and I've got my Xbox set to mute anybody that isn't on my friends list. And even when you don't hear their insults and mindless chatter, you have to put up with just crappy gamesmanship. When I play Halo with friends, it's fun. They care more about enjoying the game than some rank. Play with strangers online, and you get rage quitting, spamming, glitches, etc.

I love to COD games and play them with friends or bots. There are some genuinely great people out there on Xbox Live. Hilarious people, or people who are great teammates. Sadly, you have to dig through layer upon layer of immaturity to find them. You almost have a better shot at a winning lottery ticket. I get so little time to game that I don't want to waste it digging through the muck. Anonymity is the worst possible thing that can happen to one's personality.

It depends what games you play. Halo and COD appeal to MANY eighth graders, so there you go. BLUR and FULL HOUSE POKER are two of the most vocal and entertaining games to play with a mic. Yes, you still need to use the mute button every so often, but such is life.

What's your point, Mitch?

Some great games don't have multiplayer, and some do.

Imagine super smash bros with no multiplayer. Yuck. Imagine Left 4 Dead, Portal 2, Team Fortress 2, Diablo 2, Starcraft, and Warcraft 3 all without MP. Some of the best games of all time need MP.

Very few single player game are worth the $60 purchase. I am not wasting my cash on a game that I can be done with in a week. This is why multiplayer has thrived this gen. We are in a recession and I want bang for my buck, unless the game is at least 20+ for a story mode I will not buy it at launch unless it has decent multiplayer. Dishonured is not worth the $60.

Yet the multiplayer is instantly dumped within a week unless it is named CoD, Battlefield or is a valve game. The only ways to keep people playing your game for more than a single week.

Even though Dishonured is a game I have yet to play. I would much rather play it than the newest games that were once single player but turned into Multiplayer franchises. They fail. Massively and would rather have ten billion Deadly Premonition level games rather than a single other hacked in multiplayer crapfest.

People need to realize that games are art. Seriously, it's been proven over and over again. I think it's about time to people to man up and finally say this.

That doesn't work because they ARE multiplayer only games other than Portal 2 and Diablo 2.

Multiplayer games are dumbed down badly and I have made many points already and agreement with others that all it does is waste time and money.
