Series that killed their own legacy this generation.

People need to get over GTAIV.

GTA is not going back to SA style. Rockstar has matured and evolved. I LOVE GTAIV and it's episodes and I have SR3 for my wacky open world fun.

Final Fantasy

Final Fantasy killed their own legacy last gen tbh.

No. 10 10-2 and 12 were still great games. I even played 11 for 2 years

Final Fantasy X-2 was a good game? Please tell me you're trolling. That game literally S-U-C-K-E-D.

Lets see, I might as well do all the games I love.

Mario= getting clsoe to dying, they have been lazy as hell the last few years, and screw what everyone thinks, I thought Mario galaxcy 2 and Mario 3D land were lazy products, with the entire New Series even laizer. As for Paper Mario stickers, its a disgrace. They can't just put a new paint job on the precise same thing over and over forever, if Sonic or Megaman did something like the New Mario bros series they would have been dead years ago, er, even deader.

Legend of Zelda= I REALLY hate the direction the series has been going since Phantom Hour Glass, I hate the motion controller obsession, its crippled the gameplay to me, that's how I see it.

Kirby= as before, hard to show up but when he does show up he still makes a good impact.

Star Fox= MIA this gen, that's a sin, the Big N should have been able to do something with the Lylat System, ugh.

Metriod= I, did not hate other M, I did wish they would improve on a few things on the sequel, if they get that far.

Sonic= Colors was bleh, Generations was better, we will see if it goes up or down from here, but the Unleashed system has got to go, its for fools on speed rushes.

Megaman= MIA, DAMN CAPCOM!

Street Fighter= Rose from the dead, and is now falling in to the same symptoms that caused it to fall in to obscurity in the first place, never ending " Updates" . Damn it Capcom, you never learn.

Resident Evil= Slowly turning in to a Call of Duty clone one step at a time, and DMC, ugh.

RPGs= Final Fantasy is being turned in to a game all about flash, with lazy story and looks that are not even that good. Tales of are going ok, as long as they don't try to also become like Western RPGs. Star Ocean, hope there is more of them

King of Fighters= 12 nearly broke the series, 13 was good redemption, hope there is more of them.

Games in general= becoming more obsessed with being shorter and all about flash, just turning in to random shoot outs for all of those who want things to just explode over and over again.

You like Metroid: Other M but dislike Mario Galaxy 2?

Yet both are terrible by literally any game made nowadays. Why play Mario when I can play Bioshock? Or Metro 2033? Or To the Moon? Why play something storyless when it rots my mind when I can play a video game with a actual story. Tell me why.

Why play any videogame instead of reading a novel? I can only think of 3 games with legitimately well told stories and memorable stories: Silent Hill 2, Final Fantasy Tactics and Planescape: Torment.

And Torment is an absolutely horrible and boring game because it focuses completely on story to the detriment of gameplay.

Games don't need stories to be fun. They are simply a framing device for your character's actions. On the rare occasion that the stories are any good, hey, that's a great bonus. But it almost never happens.

What exactly was lazy about 3D Land and Galaxy 2, I'm legitimately curious.

They made sweeping radical changes to the formula with Mario Sunshine and everyone bashed it to hell and back.

So they go for a back to basics focused platformer without any of the gimmicks and now Nintendo is being lazy by not innovating enough.

They're damned if they do and damned if they don't. Despite the fact that all of them are still good games.

Skyward Sword is the perfect example. Nintendo did something extremely innovative and completely changed how Zelda was played making it a more engaging experience through and through. And you hate it.

The gameplay wasn't crippled, you're just one of the many fickle fans. You can still do everything you could do in OoT, MM and WW and some of it even easier. And now combat itself is a puzzle like real swordfighting should be. It's no longer mashmashmashmashmashblockmashmashmashblock.

So to break it down Mario is bad for not being different. And Zelda is bad for being different.
