As long as you're using an HDMI cable it shouldn't be very hard at all. There aren't that many games that support it and of those that do the quality is questionable. Assassin's Creed Revelations and AC3 do, but your resolution goes way down if you put it in 3D. Crysis 2 looks pretty nice.
Should be an option in the individual game menu and your TV should realise it's receving a 3D signal and adjust automatically.
Games have to support them. A lot of the most recent games do support 3D. Most recent multiplatforms do since I thinks its a requirement on the PS3 I think. So in short, yes, the console does support 3D.
also what some people fail to do is wait 15 minutes for your set to "warm up", then adjust the 3D depth settings to get rid of crosstalk...the picture will be crystal clear...most people just turn it on, and turn it right back off because they are stupid

yeah the res takes a hit, but it's worth it...the tracers coming at your face from a 50 cal down the street still make you blink
