I bought a former girlfriend a brand new Xbox 360 and Lost Odyssey

Was she a former girlfriend at the time and you were trying to win her back? Or did she later become a former?

Well, then go with the last option. You can't go wrong with that one.

But I don't think they're weird at all.

Now I would have gone with that answer if the question was asked before Thanksgiving. (I have a real issue with anything Christmas before I've had my Thanksgiving dinner)

Sorry... not trying to be difficult. I'm just complicated.

I buy them for my siblings. Sometimes I gift games on Steam.
