Port forwarded my Xbox and it worked for a month but today it suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason. Just wondering if anyone knew the reason, had experience with this or knew how to fix it?

I've reset my router, refreshed my port forward settings and changed my static ip address.

the router probably assigned the xbox a new I.P.

ex. if it was 192.168.1.3 before and now its at 192.168.1.4 then all of the port forwarded would only be forwarded for the 192.168.1.3 I.P. not the new .4 one. just find the current IP for the xbox and update your ports so they designate the new IP

What is the issue exactly? Connection issues, strict NAT type, etc.?

I've spent the last day researching into it. It is NAT issues, I've manually assigned the Xbox a IP address changing the end (.127), subnet mask, gateway and DNS server. It was working perfectly fine for about half a month.

Also I don't know if this is an issue but I deleted all the inactive applications (port triggers) in my router settings. I didn't set them up they've just been there since I got the router.

your xbox was assigned a new ip, so all your port forwarding is invalid. You need to give your xbox a permanent IP address by setting it up manualy

Already set up my Xbox's IP manually other wise it wouldn't of worked at the first attempt. I didn't change it and I checked and it hadn't been changed by anything else either.

Is this your only console? And you did make sure that the IP set in the router and the one you set in the console matched up right? And a wireless or wired connection?

Also, didn't forward ports 53 and 80 as well, right? You only really need to worry about 3074 and 1863.

And what model modem/router? And are they two separate devices or an all in one?

Like someone else mentioned, best is to just turn on UPnP. Then next best is port triggering, then port forwarding (unless you have two consoles).
