1st person games that would be better in 3rd person

The entire point of Mirror's Edge is that it was first person. The whole thing was an exercise in making an anti-FPS. The entire project is literally pointless if it's not in first person!

There are so few games in first person that aren't about pew pew killing people, you can't have ME. We need it as proof of concept that there's more to first person than guns. So pick another game, one that actually makes sense.

Lining up jumps is not fun at the best of times from a first-person perspective, let alone when most of the game is lining up jumps. I liked what I played of Mirrors Edge, but the whole time I felt like I needed the extra perspective to really do all the "fluid" s*** they wanted you to.

Mirror's Edge tops this list, it definitely should've been 3rd person.

Mirrors edge is a game made specifically for first person, it would not be quite so immersive if it were a third person title. The first person perspective makes you feel like you're the one doing it all in that game, third person would ruin the entire point of the game.

Trolling FPS gamers ain't the way to go about doing things. Are you the one responsible for Highlander: The Source?

I don't view this as a troll post for the simple reason I feel pretty much the same way.

With the exception of Borderlands and Dust 514, I do not like FPSs. They have a tendency to make me motion sick, especially some great games like Dishonored or Mirror's Edge. I for one just wish many developers in the future would take the "Fallout Option" approach, and leave it up to the players to pick between a first or third person POV. Heck, racing games have been doing this for over a decade.

Either that or simply make more TPSs. FPS games seem to out number TPS games 10 to 1.
