Make guns less accesible & problem solved.

They can't ban violent video games IMO as then they'd have to ban violent films & music.
Songs affect my mood way more than a game or movie ever has (Bar FF7 of course) - Music has made me want to fight people, no game has ever made me want to go out & shoot people in the face.

The only recurring thing I see about these shootings you have in the states, the killer always looks a little unhinged mentally. Add guns into the mix & of course you have a recipe for disaster. But guns will never be banned in America as it's built into the foundations of your constitution/

Yea lets do the thing that will make no difference at all. People only use guns as a crutch because they see it as an easy scapegoat

If you want to start solving these problems then how about we start working on subject that actually matter. Like more help for people who are clear mentally unstable

This is easily one of the worst topics I have ever seen.

Also since people are just talking out of their ass and have no idea what a ban on gun control would actually do read this

Once you ban something, a huge criminal empire grows up around that banned thing, which means that if guns were banned, they would still be on every streetcorner in the USA and crime would be a million times worse.

Prohibition, drug bans, gun bans in the UK, none of it has ever worked to stop crime surrounding those banned things.

Laws only effect people who actually abide by those laws, and criminals, by definition, do NOT FOLLOW LAWS, which means yet another law that only penalizes innocent people would NOT EFFECT THEM AT ALL.

Look at the FBI's firearm homicide list broken down state by state, and you'll find that the places with the strictest anti-gun purchase laws and a lack of concealed carry permits has the HIGHEST firearm homicide numbers, while the states with the easiest purchase laws and easy to obtain CCW permits has the lowest firearm homicide numbers.

Vermont gets it right every single year for the past 40+ years, they've maintained Single Digit firearm homicide numbers for decades. It was either 2009 or 2010 that they had ZERO firearm homicides in Vermont, because they don't require permits to carry concealed AT ALL, anybody can carry whatever they want concealed in Vermont. That means that the Criminals don't know who has a gun and who doesn't, so they don't start s*** at all....

Gun control does NOT stop crime, it only makes it worse.

Make sure you watch that whole video, gun control has killed more than 100+ million people because they were disarmed by law, then their own governments, the people who said "we'll protect you now", rolled over them with armed soldiers, exterminating them at will.

Federal law preventing a national firearms registration scheme.
Title 18 US Code Section 926
"No such rule or regulation prescribed after the date of the
enactment of the Firearms Owners' Protection Act may require that
records required to be maintained under this chapter or any portion
of the contents of such records, be recorded at or transferred to a
facility owned, managed, or controlled by the United States or any
State or any political subdivision thereof, nor that any system of
registration of firearms, firearms owners, or firearms transactions
or dispositions be established."

FBI web pages dedicated to the true Firearm Homicide numbers, sorted by state, and by year.

http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2010/crime-in-the-u.s.-2010/tables/10shrtbl08.xls

That last link shows that firearm homicide numbers came DOWN every year for more than 5 years in a row. Gun ownership went UP every year. That link also shows that the "100,000 people dead from gun violence per year in the USA" currently being bandied about by CNN and other independent online news sources is 100% BULLS***.

The United Kingdom has one of the lowest rates of gun homicides in the world with 0.07 recorded intentional homicides committed with a firearm per 100,000 inhabitants in 2009 compared to the United States' 3.0 (over 40 times higher) and to Germany's 0.21 (3 times higher).

For defense? No, people arn't really going to be lugging them around for that

There are many other uses that people use AR's for though and the media has gotten to a point where "assault rifle" is a keyword for just about anything that shoots bullets.

I love how people make the dumb assumption that increased gun control laws somehow won't do anything to help make these mass murders happen less.

Here, let me fix that for you.
"I love how people make the dumb assumption that increased gun control laws will keep people from murdering each other willy nilly like they have been for the last four thousand years of recorded human history"

The number of deaths from car accidents in the US last year was over 32,000. Nobody talks about banning cars.

The number of estimated deaths from medical malpractice in the US is around 200,000 per year. Nobody talks about banning doctors.

In 2009 around 37,000 died from drug overdose, in 2008 over 300,000 people ended up in the emergency room for overdosing on painkillers. So much for strict regulation.

Smoking kills an estimated 443,000 people in the US per year. So much for telling people smoking can flat out kill you.

As for guns. Over 47,000 people were murdered (note murdered) with guns from 2006-2010 in the US. Of the 32,000 deaths from guns in 2007 almost 56% of those are suicides. The majority of all gun related deaths in the US are suicide. Also countries with strict gun control laws don't seem to mention very often that shooting related deaths are now stabbing related deaths.
