How much does Gamestop give you if you trade in a used xbox360?

#1BeautyAndABeatPosted 1/3/2013 1:47:03 PM
A non-working one and a working one.

Also, does the price change if I include a controller and cables? Or does that not matter?

I have 4 360's and 3 of em, I don't use. Two of em are RROD'd, and 1 of em works (arcade 360). The main one I use is the Halo 4 LE console so every other one I have is useless which is why I'm thinking of trading them in towards the Wii U :D

Sell them on Craigslist.

Oh and which store has the best trade in deals? Best Buy or Gamestop? I want at least $120 off towards the Wii U.

Craigslist scares me... because essentially what you're doing is inviting a random person that you've never met into your house...

not sure how much Gamestop would give you but right now they're giving 50% extra trade-in credit for consoles. That being said you'd probably get more money from a private sale like Ebay or Craigslist.

Depends on wether it's an old or new model 360. The cables are required, so bring those with you. You're not gonna get much off the broken one. The refurb fee on it will take more than half of it, or they might not accept it at all.

Any console traded in must be complete(working or not), and must include a controller and correct cabling(hard drives are not required).

A broken older model xbox will get you around $25-$30 IF they accept it(some don't, it's dependent on that stores stock and manager, so YMMV)
A working older model will net you around $60-$70.
A working 'S' model will net you around $150(as of Dec 20, 2012).
Unsure about broken 'S' models, as they are few and far between.

Also, the MS 'seal' must not be broken either, so if you opened the console and messed with it, they won't accept it.
Hard drives will net more, but that's the gist of it for 360 trade ins.

People would still buy old white 360's?

Ebay is like a hit or miss. You either sell it or you don't. And if you don't, you just wasted all that time for nothing. Or you can just relist the item hoping someone else buys it.

If that's the case, I might as well just sell it on Ebay.

^^ Agreed. eBay or Craigslist. Oh, and I got those figures from what people have been posting over at CAG on the 'deals' forums there.
