I suspect Nintendo is looking at it like this:

If one half of the people who bought the first one buy a Wii U to play the second, PROFIT (assuming the reports of selling one game makes up for the hardware selling at a loss are true).

It just seems weird to me that such an *ahem* adult game would be wii u exclusive considering nintendos focus on the childrens

One more reason to buy a Wii U. The only thing that could screw it up is lack of support for the pro controller, which I highly doubt will happen.

Which part? 'Cause Nintendo does focus more on younger audiences. Hence my sister's interest in the Wii and Nintendo's IPs.

Nintendo IP's aren't kids games, they're family games. Huge difference. They are also trying to get some more mature exclusives like Zombie U and now Bayonetta 2.

Now for the actual question. Considering Nintendo is paying for it, I don't have the right to complain, since it wouldn't exist otherwise.
Rainbow Dash is best pony. The only argument I will accept is for Twilight Sparkle.

Ok, that's true. I've never been a Nintendo fan myself, so I don't really see it, but... the biggest and most enduring icons in gaming are Nintendo's.
