60 FPS look games feel like those TV soap operas.

That's only an argument for movies, not games. Movies should not exceed 24 fps, but games should go as high as possible. The smoother, the better.

Still waiting for the standard to be 1080p with 60 fps

Looks at Halo ODST, Halo Reach , Splinter Cell:ConViction, etc., all under 720p.

Heck there's more games that are under 720p then 1080p.

No one is talking about 4k Gaming for Consoles at the moment.
The whole presentations of new TVs,BluRay Players and stuff in the last days is meant for TV,BluRay and Cinema Medias in general.

I know in the western world 1080p isn't even standard but for example...

Japan is running 4k in their TV shows and 8k is getting tested right now.
They want to show 8k shows beginning with 2016.

Sony is developing a big library with 4k shows/media for the western world especially the USA now.
And of course > Upscaling will be a big factor in the first few years.

HD was around since the mid 90.Like 4k is now - In a few years it is the standard.
Accept the fact - And Resolutions aren't always for gaming especially not native.

The 360 is a upscaling machine - Most games scale up from Sub HD to 720/1080p cause those aren't possible with the weak hardware as a NATIVE Resolution.
Lets pretend we can see NATIVE 1080p on consoles...The PS4 will surely support 4k in some ways > Upscaling is a possibility.
And good upscaling > Native low Res.

4K is worthless unless you use 80" TVs, which most people probably aren't going to use unless they fall in the $300-600 range.

Welcome to 1920's thinking....

Most video content is running 30fps right now, has been for years already.

Get a computer powerful enough to run a game at 200+fps and lock it at 90fps.

I used to run Quake 3 at 125fps to make certain jumps possible in the Rocket Arena mod.

Tell me how it feels when it goes fast. I mean that's crazy. I came barely handle 60.

1080 P vs 720 P on sets less than 30 inches is well nigh undetectable.

Why, because some self-proclaimed "expert" told you it was undetectable?

Not just "one" expert. ALL of them. Sorry, but when every tech site across the internet claims 720P and 1080P are indistinguishable at certain screen sizes - a fact I and my trained eye completely agree with - you need to just sit down and learn something. Or continue pissing in the wind. Your choice.
