I bet we'll have some combination of Kinect-like motion recognition and a [helmet / visor / glasses] that directs your vision. You'll probably always still need to use buttons (or maybe pedals) to move your character around though. I'd imagine like a one-handed controller with a thumb stick and finger-triggers modeled somewhat after a flight-stick.

The Holodeck was, what, like 30 feet across? Even assuming that the world generates false depth around you, you'd have to make sure you're walking in place so you don't faceplant into a metal wall.

you realize the guy she is talking to is just looking at an empty air right? Only the people on TV actually saw the "hologram"

Not a hologram, they are projected onto a screen. The Gorillaz actually did it first before Japan.
