Witcher 2, or Batman Arkham City Game of the Year?

#1Manick123Posted 1/17/2013 5:18:04 AM(edited)
Hi people, I just finished Far Cry 3 for my single player joy (Great game, has to be said) so I'm currently searching for a new game that will suck me in and only let me go until I finish it. I love me a good RPG, walking around in a big world solving an impressive story with unique characters, good action and beautiful places to visit. Having played most of the general RPGs on the 360, my eye fell on Witcher 2, which seems to get a lot of praise everywhere.

Next to that, I love a good superhero game, especially where I can roam around in a city, beating up bad guys and encounter iconic bad guys. I've borrowed from a friend and played Batman a couple of months ago, for about half an hour but I somehow forgot about it and went back to playing other games. Possibly willing to give it another chance though, but I'm not really sure... Witcher for my RPG and roaming loveliness or Batman for my badass loveliness...

I'm on the fence for both. Can you help me out?

Witcher 2 is a must play if you like RPGs.

Batman is OK.

2013 is here. New Year's resolution = play more, eat more, drink more, achieve less.

I'd recommend Batman for the fun story, great cameos, and surprisingly enjoyable boss fights. The Witcher 2 is also good, but be warned, the world isn't as massive as you'd think. Each chapter you go to a new, relatively modestly sized area. Once you finish a chapter you'll be locked out of that area.

Tough choices... Damn. Might get one of them in about an hour or two.

Thanks people. As someone who also likes stealth games with a good story, what if I add in Dishonored? Which between the three would you pick?

Both are great games but I'd go Batman.

Definitely play both though.

Played both.

The Witcher 2 is a far better game and I found it more fun than Batman. The choices actually do matter in this game and do affect the end game. It's also more than just "durr that's the bad guy and that's the good guy and that's a guy who helps you out hurr" story, political, deep and it all ties in together. You also have to pick both sides to get the full story.

I am a huge Batman: The Animated Series, so Arkham Asylum and Arkham City were "must buys" for me, although it's obvious that the Nolan films could have inspired their releases. Both are great games, gameplay-wise. But the story in AC felt like crap. There is a huge part of the game talking about the grand scheme of one of the villains and it just falls flat on it's face. Along with AC getting some crap DLC where you play as Catwoman, Robin and Nightwing through the SAME challenge stages Batman has and I heard the story DLC isn't all that good. I was disappointed with AC having cash-in DLC.
