the reason why relic gets a high bid is because of timing

Company of Heroes 2 is a game that has been in development for a very long time, and near completion. the game is expected to sell well.

so the majority of the the $26M is basically paying for a completed game which is a great deal consider if you were to develop a game like that from scratch would be far higher.

They made quite a bit of money off of Dead Island, not to mention they're just one part of Koch Media, which does other things, they're a pretty big company.

To clarify on an earlier post, Relic owns the Warhammer 40k license. And yes, they made Dawn of War and Space Marine. Sega had previously acquired the Warhammer license for Creative Assembly, but not Warhammer 40k. Sega now owns Warhammer 40k as well as publishing rights for Company of Heroes 2.
