No, the game and all the new content are on the new disc.

It said you only get tons of ferrystones if you own the first game.

Ah, that. Yeah, I don't know if that'd be a dealbreaker, though. I only used one ferrystone in all my time with DD.

The $40 expansion will be available at retail in North America and Europe, and as a digitally distributed title on the PlayStation Network. Dark Arisen sounds more like a relaunch of Dragon's Dogma, as it includes the full game, with travel improvements and "a more intuitive menu system." The game provides the extra weapons and quests to those who already own Dragon's Dogma, allowing their old save data to be used with the new interface.

From Joystiq. Yeah, I'll pick it up even though I already have DD. Hope it revives the community a little bit.

Sweet. Thanks for the heads up. I will definitely pick this up day 1.

Consider that bought!

Wish it would come to PC so we can work out framerate issues but it doesn't look likely.

I guess the old version will go on a clearance sale now.

It feels like Capcom are actively telling people "Don't buy our games at launch, it's a waste of money. Wait a bit and we'll release a better version of the same game with all the complaints fixed".

It would be better, surely, to release a game without glaring design omissions first so they don't feel compelled to fix it later?

Here's hoping they do that with DmC.

Except there are no glaring problems they need to fix.
Well, aside from maybe a lack of lock-on.

The combat wasn't engaging. It felt more like a GoW clone than DMC.
