I have a skull candy headset. I just got a new tv but it doesn't have any audio out ports, just in. I can't get it to work because I hook up my Xbox via hdmi. With no audio out port to plug in to I can't get it to work. Anybody have any solutions?

they sell an adapter for that... or you can use your a/v cable that came with your xbox, but you have to "modify" it (AKA break).

With that I can just plug in the red and white from the headset right into that adaptor while using hdmi for video? One reviewer was talking about cutting stuff...

--You can either do the workaround (google xobx 360 hdmi hack) or you can buy an adapter.

--The downside to doing the workaround is that you may get HDCP issues, depending on your TV. This isn't as bad as it sounds. Issues like the 360 will reboot if you change video sources or turn off the TV while playing.

--Some 3rd party adapters do also have that issue. It is said that the monoprice.com dongle will not give you those issues. they usually have it in stock, and it costs about $5 with shipping.

--I do all three methods: I have one Xbox using the workaround where I opened up a component cable. Very simple to do. I also have the official MS Dongle. And i have a 3rd party dongle. And I have a monoprice.com dongle. The official dongle and Monoprice.com dongle dont' give me the HDCP issues like the workaround and the amazon dongle. However, my amazon dongle may just be old, they may have improved them over the years.

Well the Amazon one is only 4 bucks. So long as I can listen to my headset while my tv uses hdmi video ill deal with the quirks. Cap do u do this because ur tv has no audio out like my reason?

I do it to use Toslink optical audio while HDMI sends video to the TV.

The 360 sends audio out through HDMI, toslink optical, and the red and white audio. So don't worry about using one and the other not working.
