Do Games Suck Now a Days Or Am I just Older?

#1Jwilliams8102Posted 1/28/2013 9:24:09 PM
I don't know maybe its just me but does anyone else feel like games are horrible now a days? When I was younger I could come home and easily crank out 10-12 hours of gaming.

The last decent game I played was Forza 3-4 and I'm not really even a fan of racing i'm an rpg type guy. Those games got me hooked and sucked in which makes me think It can't be me really...games are just bad any one else agree?

I sold my xbox about 3 months ago and haven't played anything since.

The only thing that's changed is that I have less time to play, thus the backlog was born. When I do play, I feel no different than when I played when I was younger.

Granted, I'm 23, which is still quite young...

Maybe it is just the games you are (or were) playing that suck.

Dopamine, it's not because you're older.

It's because you a constantly given short burst of information. Which activates the information part of the brain which gives you high levels of Dopamine and makes you go in a viscous cycle of repeating it.

You want to love video games again. Then avoid everything giving you Dopamine.

Games are better than ever, but you'll never experience them again like you did when you were younger. If you want to keep gaming, it's something you have to reconcile.
